How to format dates correctly in Excel

The forecasting tool requires that dates are in the "date time" format yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm e.g. 2020-03-19 15:45

To get the dates in this format

  • Right click (not left click) on the mouse and select Format Cells
  • Click on Number > Custom
  • Replace the contents in the Type: box with yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm
  • The dates should then be in the right format e.g. 2020-03-19 15:45
